Education

Over the 2.5-day event students will have the opportunity to participate in three 90 minute educational workshops covering a variety of STEM subject areas, run by various ANU Departments such as the ANU Department of Quantum Science and the ANU Research School of Chemistry.

We will also have group activities run by our partner organisations, Robogals ANU and Engineers Without Borders ACT, which allow students to work together on engineering and science-based problems in an interactive and engaging environment. Alongside this, students will also develop skills in leadership and action planning, giving them the capabilities to complete their community-based project with their mentors during the latter half the year.

This year we are offering workshops in the following areas:

  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Computer Science
  • Medicine
  • Engineering
  • Biological Anthropology

Students will also have the opportunity to take part in a tour of the Mt. Stromlo Observatory and to hear from a variety of successful scientists from rural backgrounds.
